France is a highly developed country, it has the sixth greater
economy of the world and it is a European power. It is one of
the five permanent members of the Security Council of the United
Nations and it is one of the eight recognized nuclear powers.
It is a modern and rich country, the great agricultural country
of Central Europe. Its territory is divided in different departments
and it is highly centralized in its splendid capital, Paris. Its
people are proud and seductive, soldier, aggressive and pleasure
and art lovers.
But France is not only a paradise for the lovers, but also to
the lovers of the Classical and Modern Art, the luxury and good
taste, the gastronomy, the night pleasures or so many other things
than it limitless offers to us.
With 80.000.000 foreign tourists every year, it is the most popular
destiny around the world.
France offers, in addition, a spectacular variety of landscapes,
from mountain ranges of the Alps (with Mont Blanc – 4.807
mts altitude, that is the highest mountain of Western Europe)
to the Pyrenees, and the attractive valleys of the rivers Loire,
Rhône and Dordogne and the plains of Normandy and the Atlantic
coast. It also has about 2.900 km of coast with the very famous
Blue Coast.

Tuve ocasión de contemplar el eclipse total de sol que pasó por Francia desde St. Quentin, haciendo coincidir una escala en medio de un viaje en Interrail. Valió la pena.
