Maybe, the more notable thing that the city has done in last years has
been the effort by being opened at sea. Since the World's Expo in 1992,
the city understood that the port should be for the people, passing, artists
and families that are, in reality, the spirit that maintains alive the
city.

In
this way, it was congested, dirty, industrial and contaminated and it
is an enormous and kind open walk to the sea, with extensive extensions,
business districts and restaurants. So, now it is possible to take a morning
or evening walks to see the Sea.
Various areas complement the wharfs as an old store converted in an enormous
and artificial comercial zone, a bay-window elevator that elevates to
the people fifty meters or the excellent Aquarium,
where marine life of all places and climates can be seen.
In the port also rests docked the pirate ship that was used in the film
Pirates, of Roman Polansky. We declare him our admiration.
In short, the port of Genoa is a place of great interest, supported by
the city to which supplies and to which converted, in the XIIIth century,
in one of the five Italian maritime republics.
